The Trust is a registered charity in NZ that has been incorporated to improve and formalise the processes for rehoming Standardbred horses and provide a life after harness racing. The Trustees hold all funds of the Trust on trust, to be used to further the following charitable purposes within the Trustees’ absolute discretion with the intent that the funds shall be expended within NZ as follows: 1. To provide and inspire assistance for the rescue, rehabilitation, recycling and rehoming of Standardbred horses, with the priority being horses retired directly from their trainers (primary); 2. To provide grazing, housing and shelter for Standardbred horses until rehomed; 3. To educate and train volunteers so that they are able to work and assist with the primary purposes of the Trust; and 4. To educate the public on the work of the Trust, how to care and take responsibility for the emotional and physical welfare of Standardbred horses.
