The Mornington Peninsula has the highest number of rough sleepers in Greater Melbourne (Launch Housing's Project Zero). We provide the only dedicated Assertive Outreach for Homelessness and we run two programs providing showers, laundry and food, one on the foreshore the other a specialist program for women.

We are seeing high levels of challenging behaviours amongst our clients including high levels of unsupported mental health issues and high levels of illegal substance use.

As a small agency without any other orgs operating outreach our staff are taking the brunt of these challenges and our internal supervision doesnt have the capability to provide the comprehensive support they require.

All of our homelessness programs are funded by donations as there is no government funding for them in our area. Recently we lost $80k of federal government for Emergency Relief support, this has put pressure on the food and material aid support across the organisation including our homelessness programs. We have had to make a concentrated effort to raise the funds from the community.
