Sons of Consolation Ministries was formed to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community; to reach the fatherless, widow, poor, disabled, and imprisoned with a goal to earn the ability to minister to the spiritual needs of the community by first reaching out to meet their physical needs. We serve in four basic areas: Impoverished, Imprisoned, Elderly, and Disabled

Medical equipment restoration and distribution program

We collect, refurbish, and distribute a wide variety of Durable Medical Equipment throughout the CSRA and Internationally. We have a group of all volunteers that collect, clean, and refurbish these items which are distributed locally at no cost to those in need through third party organizations. We use third party organizations to distribute items in order to validate medical necessity, ensure the equipment suits the patient, and provide adequate training to the end user. Hundreds of items are donated each year and provided to patients through a network of like-minded organizations, free clinics, rehab facilities, and hospitals such as the Christ Community Healthcare System, Gap Ministries, Walton Rehab, Piedmont Hospital, and more. We have also provided items to residents in several local Nursing Homes, and to the State Medical Prison in Augusta. When equipment is available, we also make equipment available for organizations providing similar services abroad.

Backpack Program

Each Year SOC Ministries provides backpacks to Children in an ecumenical array of congregations throughout the CSRA. The past several years, we have provided 800 backpacks to a group of Churches and Organizations including a Christian After School Program for underserved Children, and a Single Mother's home geared to women escaping addiction or abuse, as well as public distributions in Richmond and McDuffie Counties.

Church@ Nursing Home Program

Provides a "Home Church" experience for Nursing Home residents which includes fellowship, love, counsel, and Pastoral Care. Annually, gifts are given to every resident in each Nursing Home we are working in.

Jail and Prison Ministry

With a goal to reach the incarcerated with the love of Christ, we are huge participants and supporters of the Kairos Prison Ministry and reach out to the local County Jails.
