At Saving Tails Animal Rescue (STAR), our dedicated team of unpaid volunteers, affectionately known as rockSTARS, are on a mission to transform the lives of animals in need. We are more than just a rescue—we are a lifeline for homeless pets and owned animals living in challenging conditions.Through our rescue program, we rehabilitate homeless animals, providing them with veterinary care, spay/neuter services, and the loving forever homes they deserve. On the outreach side, we tackle a heartbreaking reality: animals forced to live chained outside in extreme Michigan weather. We work directly with owners to improve these animals' lives by providing education, warm straw, upgraded dog houses, lightweight tie-outs, and essential enrichment like toys and treats. Our goal is to move dogs indoors to become cherished family members.In addition, our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program addresses the overwhelming number of feral cats, ensuring they are fixed and cared for to prevent more kittens.
