Salty Dogs Senior Animal Rescue is the only rescue in the state of South Carolina focused solely on dogs age six and above. We fulfill an underserved need to place neglected and/or surrendered senior pups into nurturing, loving, foster and adoptive homes. Formed as a 501(c)(3) funded mostly by the generosity of grants, community donations and support. We operate solely with volunteers. There are no employees and no buildings. Our primary need for funds is to cover the overdue medical needs of surrendered senior dogs. Possessing years of animal shelter experience and a passion for homeless animals, founding partners Holly McManus and Laura Branchini, came together in January 2022 to start this foster-based animal rescue. They pinpointed the need and value of a true home environment to help transition senior dogs toward adoption.  We not only help rehome older dogs, we provide resources and support for those caring for their senior pets, and assist in including their pets in their will and estate plans.

Grateful for the enthusiasm and support our venture has already received, we look forward to the many furry lives we will impact long-term.
