We are a 501(c)(3) dedicated to helping the underdogs- mostly medical-needs Belgian Malinois, German Shepherds and Dutch Shepherds- these breeds typically do not do well in shelter environments and really require special adopters. We purchased a 40-acre parcel of raw land to build the rescue/sanctuary’s forever home on, but during the caldor fire, we were evacuated from our long-time rental in South Lake Tahoe out to the new property in Fallon, NV. During evacuation, our landlord sold the rental from under us and we were forced to move to the property this past march. We are piecing things together as quickly as possible, but currently we are running things off of generators, solar, propane and we have to haul our own water in (no well yet). We keep taking hit after hit, but we are kind of the little rescue that could- we have 23 dogs in our care and their comfort, care and support come first and foremost. We could desperately use outdoor kennels, insulated dog houses, mesh shade cloths, fencing for more play yards and a training yard,  and of course a well. We have 2, hopefully soon to be 3 volunteer caretakers who stay on property and make sure the dogs get daily exercise, mental stimulation, play groups, training, socialization, love and care. We are using travel trailers and rv’s to house the volunteers and dogs, with some outdoor kennels and yards; although the dogs love it, it would be amazing to be able to give them a little more space and freedom on the property.
