About us
Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines in the oldest Equine non-profit in the United States, established in 1888, by Anne Wahn Ryerss of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We are a retirement facility for horses over 20 years of age and also offer refuge to horses in special needs situations. Comprised of mainly a Volunteer workforce, we have 383 acres and grow our own hay and straw that we use for 80 our horses. Once an animal comes to Ryerss to retire, they will never again be ridden, worked or used for experimentation.
