About us

Ringtail Ranch Lemur Rescue is a USDA licensed sanctuary and forever home to captive bred lemurs. Lemurs are intelligent primates and one of the world’s most endangered species, yet bought and sold as pets like puppies and kitten in the US. Unlike puppies and kittens, lemurs are taken from their mom at just days or weeks old leading to severe behavioral issues towards humans at maturity. Lemurs can live over thirty years have the intellectual and emotional needs of a toddler and dietary needs of fresh fruits, vegetables and leaf eater biscuit daily. They also need a climate controlled environment with sunshine ample room to play.

Sadly there is little information available on lemur care and they are often kept in bird cages or tiny enclosures and fed poor diet leading to serious issues such as obesity, depression, bone disease and death.

It is our mission to provide a forever thriving environment for these amazing creatures as well as educate people on the importance of conservation, proper animal care and a respect for all living beings. Education is key in saving these animals.
