Pound Pitties Dog Rescue is a Colorado-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit, breed-specific Pit Bull rescue dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and advocating for one of the most misunderstood and mistreated breeds.

We rescue Pit Bulls from high-kill shelters, abusive situations, neglect, and unimaginable circumstances. We have saved bait dogs who have endured horrific cruelty, orphaned puppies with no mothers to care for them, and dogs who have never known a gentle hand or what it means to be loved.

We don’t believe rescue ends when a dog is pulled from a shelter. That’s where the real work begins.

We pour everything we have into our dogs, providing proper veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, and the time they need to heal physically and emotionally. Our goal isn’t simply to save their lives. It’s to give them the tools, confidence, and foundation they need to thrive in responsible, loving forever homes.

But our mission goes far beyond rescue.

We have worked alongside our community to fight breed-specific legislation (BSL), advocate for the rights of Pit Bulls, and speak out against animal neglect, cruelty, and abuse. We’ve attended court hearings, stood up for dogs who have no voice, and fought to change the way this breed is treated and perceived.

We are more than a rescue. We are advocates, protectors, and a voice for the voiceless.

We don’t take the easy cases. We don’t turn away from a dog simply because their story is heartbreaking or their needs are expensive. We do everything within our power and resources to give them the fighting chance they deserve.

We will go to the ends of the Earth for these dogs because their lives matter, their stories matter, and they deserve so much better than what this world has often given them.

We rescue. We rehabilitate. We educate. We advocate. And above all, we fight for the dogs who cannot fight for themselves
