Pathfinder Guide Dog Programme (Pathfinder Dogs) is an independent charity that relies solely upon its own fundraising efforts and voluntary contributions. We receive no statutory funding from government or other sources.

Pathfinder Dogs is a unique charitable organisation in the UK and one of only two in the world that focuses on training and providing German Shepherd dogs as guides. The German Shepherd Dog breed was the original guide dog historically going back as far as the 1930, who are not only highly intelligent ‘one person’ dogs but whose eagerness to work and to please their handlers is unmatched by any other breed.

 At our helm is our Founder, Anne Royle, who is totally blind. She is also a fully qualified Dog Nutritionist, Behaviourist and Psychologist
