About us
As you might have guessed, gaming plays an important role in helping the young people in our community - providing them with a way to navigate and deal with challenges they face, whether it’s overcoming distress from negative experiences at school or managing the daily hurdles of life. Young people we work with use gaming to: 🎮 learn social skills and key life skills 🎮 to develop positive connections and find community 🎮 experience a sense of achievement and to recover from previous negative experiences Our in person meetups support young people in further establishing the friendships they’ve made online. Alongside this work we both lead and participate in advocacy work which aims to positively influence society and encourage strategic change. We know the impact of our support would be limited if we’re not also working to create a positive world for autistic young people outside of SG. As a charity, one of our core values is that we are child-centred. This means working with our young people in equal partnership, to achieve what’s important for them. They create and deliver a session of our Autism Acceptance training, and play a vital role to not only in helping us to identify what advocacy projects we should focus on but also in the outputs of those projects.
