Ocean Blue Project is a grassroots, boots-on-the-sand nonprofit. Everything flows downstream and the ocean is a mirror reflection of our city streets. Our mission is to make it possible for wildlife and human communities to thrive through rehabilitating and conserving our one world ocean, beaches, and rivers. That’s why we educate, empower, and lend our technical expertise to communities and local governments around the world. Our work is organized around four main programs:
- Plastic Disaster Relief—recovering plastics and other trash from beaches in partnership with university researchers and upcycling manufacturers.
- Create a CleanUp—empowering individuals, schools, and businesses to organize local cleanup events around the United States.
- River Restoration Projects—preventing ocean pollution through riparian ecosystem enhancement projects that allow local flora and fauna to thrive while addressing pollution at its source, our urban streams and rivers.
- OBP Blue Schools—providing grade-school curriculum to help students become stewards of their local watershed and ocean, integrating beach cleanups, urban stream and river restoration through Stewardship Action Projects.
