In 2022, Pets and People Humane Society adopted 800 pets and rescued another 162 pets that were moved to breed specific rescues across the country due to our direct work with other rescues. To date, Pets and People have rescued and adopted 59,000 animals into loving homes since 1995. Pets and People not only rescue from the City of Yukon, but rescue many adoptable dogs and cats from kill shelters across Canadian County and also across western Oklahoma. We rescue, transport, and utilize our connections within the rescue network of Oklahoma and beyond to save pets in peril. 

There are not similar services in our area. We are the beacon of hope for many rescues in Western Oklahoma. From Hinton, Weatherford, Mangum, and Altus to Piedmont, Minco, Union City and Chickasha, we are the rescue that so many municipal shelters reach out to save pets before their time is up. We also give support to small rescues that saved a heartworm positive dog or a cat with medical needs. We transfer the pet into our organization, provide the medical care, and then support that pet through adoption and beyond. We also are the organization that many county law enforcement agencies reach out to when there is an abuse case or a hoarder situation. We provide rescue support, transport, and medical care and placement in foster for pets that are in desperate need.
