Red Hawk Catholic is all about helping students grow in their faith through a mix of spiritual, social, and community programs. Since 1950, we’ve been supporting the students of Montclair State University to deepen their connection with Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. ​

Before we were Red Hawk Catholic, we were known simply as the "Newman Group," since we operate out of the Newman Catholic Center. In 1967, the Archdiocese of Newark bought our current property and appointed Fr. Tom Davis as Chaplain and Director, strengthening our partnership with MSU to help students thrive. ​

Over the years, we've grown in influence and recognition. In 2008, we were promoted by the university from a Class III to a Class II organization, and by 2011, we were named "Organization of the Year" for our efforts. In 2012, we made history as the first religious group to become a Class I Organization. ​
