The Midcoast Youth Center & Skatepark (MYC) mission is to unlock the inherent potential of every young person, while empowering them to thrive. Our vision is to co-create an equitable community hub that ensures social emotional health for all young people so they can reach their potential and become compassionate leaders of tomorrow. MYC operates safe and welcoming facilities and programs serving approximately 1,000 young people, ages 5-24, across three program strands -- Stability, Engagement and Adventure -- with no cost or pay-what-you-can opportunities. MYC programs create Positive Childhood Experiences (PACES) to increase skills & knowledge, wellbeing and a sense of belonging.

Midcoast Youth Center & Skatepark is physically located at a community crossroads in Bath, ME in the county seat of Sagadahoc County. Both the RSU 1 district’s high school and middle school are within walking distance from MYC. Additionally, two large low-income housing developments are within 1-2 miles of MYC, so there is a high concentration of middle to low-income housing in the immediate service area. MYC welcomes all students and serves a high rate of disadvantaged, underserved and disenfranchised youth including BIPOC, LGBTQ+, individuals with cognitive disabilities, and low-income families.
