About us
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Boys & Girls Club of Vista (BGCV) was founded in 1963 to serve children most in need of a structured, supportive environment outside of school. Since then, our organization has served more than 45,000 youth and become a key resource for families in Vista and surrounding neighborhoods. BGCV regularly garners recognition for exceptional performance by entities at the local, state, and national levels, including being named as the Nonprofit of the Year by the Vista Chamber of Commerce. Our mission is to empower every Club member, through safe and impactful experiences, to graduate high school with a plan for college or a career, contribute to their community, and live a healthy life.
Informed by our long history of assessing and addressing the needs of vulnerable families in our area, BGCV tailors these proven youth development strategies to meet the needs of those we serve most effectively. In 2024, BGCV served more than 1,900 youth across eight program sites, including 711 attending our After School and Day Camp programs.
