New England Civil War Museum
The New England Civil War Museum's approach is to go beyond the traditional textbook style interpretation of the American Civil War to present the Civil War from the perspective of the average American during the conflict. This approach is designed to create an emotional connection to the past, and provide a museum guest an understanding and perspective that has a positive impact on themselves and the world around them. The museum is looking to increase display and interpretative space, which will allow us to further expand the Civil War story told at the facility, and allow us to incorporate different perspectives, such as minorities, females, and children during the Civil War. This will be accomplished primarily by design and construction of new display cabinetry and fixture surfaces to create the physical square footage needed to add new interpretation to support the expansion of perspectives, stories, and discussions beyond the existing storyline presented.
