Lucky Cat Adoptions is an all-volunteer nonprofit whose mission is to rescue cats from municipal and independent shelters reducing the burden on their limited resources. Lucky Cat Adoptions pulls cats, mostly adults, from shelters across north Florida and southern Georgia where they are most at-risk. Since our inception in 2005, we have consistently saved 700 to 1,000 cats per year with just a few dedicated volunteers. All of the cats we help are examined by a veterinarian for a medical assessment and veterinary care prior to being placed into our partner pet supply box stores. Veterinary care is our biggest expense. We have permanent cat habitats set up in 12 regional Pet Supermarket stores in and around Jacksonville.
