Little Heroes Project was created as a response to a need in the community. Whilst working with Teen Parent Units across Aotearoa, The GET Group team noticed that a lot of young parents were struggling to meet the rising cost of essential items and basic necessities, so they decided to do something about it.

​Through connections with parent organisations, generous businesses and a lot of community love, The GET Group started to gather donations of essential items for whanāu facing financial and material hardship. They sent out zero-cost care packages to whanāu in need and quickly realised the demand was greater than first anticipated, and Little Heroes Project was born.

​Little Heroes Project began operating in September 2021 and became a Registered Charitable Trust in February 2022. Zero-cost care packages for whanāu is our core service, and we also provide access to free mentoring, support and NZQA training for young parents across Aotearoa.
