Copsy t/a Jupiter -Space to talk
About us
Caring for Our Port Stephens Youth (COPSY) instigated’ jupiter – space to talk’, in 2016 after a study run in association with University of Newcastle, ascertained the high need for an affordable, accessible service for youth in our region.
The nearest free youth mental health service over 1.5 hours away by bus (one way), and 50% higher than NSW average rates of youth mental health disorders, with our population dispersed a large geographical area and a household income only 70% of the NSW average, the need for a local, free, youth mental health service was so obviously necessary.
Our team of accredited counsellors and volunteers are dedicated to fostering resilience and promoting mental health through compassionate and evidence-based methods. With counselling rooms in Raymond Terrace, Salamander Bay and Tanilba Bay offering a blend of clinical and holistic modalities to address challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
For over 4 years now jupiter has been a lifeline for our youth. Run by the Community for the youth aged 12 – 25 years via charitable fundraising, jupiter offers vital heartfelt and professional support that is free of charge, tailored to individual needs and easily accessible.
