The mission of the organization is to ● rescue and rehabilitate all breeds of neglected or abused horses ● educate the public and promote advocacy around the plight of horses; and ● utilize the unique connection and relationship with horses for therapeutic purposes
Currently, Laughing Pony is home to 14 horses, 4 donkeys, 3 goats, and three roosters. All of these animals have unique stories that have brought them to the rescue, and individual needs based on what they have been through. Along with housing and caring for our own residents, Laughing Pony rescues equines from feedlots and auctions all year long, and helps rehome animals when it's needed.
Laughing Pony Rescue has three focused program areas aligned with our mission, including: 1) rescue and rehabilitation; 2) education; and 3) healing Equines offer a unique connection and modality for supporting well-being and our three focused program areas provide a variety of opportunity to connect horses with our community, including: ● Monthly elementary day camps week-long summer camps three times during the summer ● Mindfulness and Movement programs throughout the year ● Individual and group therapy sessions as well as leadership retreats
