At Humane Action Pennsylvania (HAP), we believe that a more compassionate world for animals leads to a healthier, more just society for everyone. Our nonprofit works at the intersection of animal welfare, public health, and environmental sustainability—advocating for policies that protect animals while also benefiting people and the planet.

Since our founding, we’ve helped pass nearly 30 animal protection laws across Pennsylvania, from banning inhumane farming practices to ensuring companion animals can be included in domestic violence protection orders. We provide free training for law enforcement, empower youth through humane education, and run statewide campaigns to eliminate cruel practices and promote sustainable living, like our Plastics Collaborative and plant-based food advocacy.

We do this work with a small, dedicated team, relying heavily on community support to fuel our impact.
