Human Rights First advances Justice, dignity, and equality.
Because every person deserves to live in safety and freedom, we confront systemic injustice, support people fleeing persecution, and defend democratic values - at home and abroad. We take bold, strategic action to hold oppressors accountable, uphold the rule of law, and equip people to thrive in inclusive societies. Justice is a foundational yet unfinished American ideal. We work to close the gap between promise and practice through advocacy, legal action, and innovation. Leading partner coalitions across sectors, we fight repression, support human rights defenders and advocates, and strengthen legal protections. We also elevate justice in public discourse and help ensure the U.S. is a global leader in human rights and democratic resilience.
