Honest John's Texas Legends, a 501(c)3 Charitable Corporation, grew out of an effort to help Philip L Ormston, a young man who (at 26) was struck by a "hit and run" drunk driver.  Philip and his cousin, Connor, who was driving, were both ejected from their truck by the force of the accident, and left in the road unconscious, and in Philip's case, barely clinging to life.  Connor's injuries were not life threatening, but Philip sustained a catastrophic traumatic brain injury that left him severely disabled and unable to care for himself, or even speak.

What began as an effort to help Philip eleven years ago, has evolved into a charitable corporation focused on helping young people who have sustained severe traumatic brain injuries at the hands of drunk drivers.  Recognizing a critical shortcoming in our health care system, our goal is to help those injured kids in the chronic phase of their TBI, where few resources are available.
