Habitat for Humanity works to provide safe and affordable housing for people in need around the world. In Australia one of our focuses is to provide safe shelter for women and children escaping domestic violence. 

Domestic violence is one of the leading causes of homelessness in Australia. Each year, over 9,000 women find themselves homeless after escaping violent homes, with a concerning 6.01% increase in DV incidents between 2021 and 2022 alone.

At Habitat for Humanity, alongside our partner organisations, we're dedicated to doubling the capacity of crisis accommodation, particularly in areas like western Sydney. Our focus includes both building new crisis shelters and refurbishing existing transitional accommodation units. Our goal is to provide a warm and welcoming environment where women and their children can feel safe, secure, and respected

Leaving a dangerous relationship is one of the most vulnerable tomes for a woman and her children. Having access to welcoming, warm and well-maintained accommodation means that these families are less at risk of returning to unsafe situations. Will you help us?
