Khalsa Shaouni Inc
About us
Dal Baba Bidhi Chand Khalsa Shaouni (DBBCKS) was established in Plumpton Victoria in 2014 as a place of worship for the Sikh community living in North-West of Melbourne. Overtime it has grown to become a beacon of light for many who have needed help at time of trouble or disasters. DBBCKS has stepped up in times of natural disasters such as the bushfires in North Victoria and NSW. The volunteers’ set up base camps in the fire effected areas with the help of the local SFA and started to provide fresh cooked meals and after assessing the situation arrange for essentials (blankets, bottled water, baby needs, personal snatiation needs for women, cloths for all and anything that the locals asked for) to be send from the temple (Gurdwara) in Plumpton. (These were delivered by trucks that the voluntaries had managed to get hold of at very short notice)
With the current COVID-19 pandemic cooked food as well as groceries delivers were arranged for people in self isolation, elderly and also all frontline workers. (Health workers were also supplied with free groceries and cooked food).
All the above is funded with the help of the local Sikh and other communities living around Plumpton.
