Global Birthing Home Foundation funds and provides operational oversight to Maison de Naissance, a midwifery based maternal and infant health center, serving the poorest of the poor in rural Torbeck, Haiti.

Our vision: We believe every mother and every infant, regardless of skin color, country of origin, religion, economic or social status deserves access to high quality and culturally relevant healthcare – the foundation of healthy, empowered communities.
Maison de Naissance provides comprehensive maternal health care services to an impoverished population, including pre and postnatal care, deliveries, reproductive health care, family planning, HIV/AIDS testing and treatment referral, and well-baby care.
The model of care was designed to overcome financial, transportation, and cultural barriers to care.  All fees are on a sliding scale starting at zero, and set by the community; emergency transportation is available on call at all times, and the staff is 100% Haitian.  Since its opening, over 9,200 babies have been delivered without a single maternal mortality.
