About us
Ethnic minority girls growing up in hill tribe villages in Northern Thailand face significant risks of becoming victims of human trafficking, child marriage, abuse, and exploitation. Gender inequality starts at birth when scarce resources limit girls’ access to education, health care, mobility, and independence.
Friends of Thai Daughters is preventing child trafficking by empowering vulnerable girls to become valued Daughters, educated women and independent adults. We operate two safe houses (Sunflower Houses) where children are provided food, shelter, education, healthcare, enrichment activities, and a nurturing family environment. We continue to provide support through college studies by sponsoring tuitions, providing mentorship and counseling for internship and career opportunities.
In 2022 we opened Sunflower Farm, an organic and environmentally-conscious sustainability project, along with a Community Center to expand our reach through programming partnerships with neighboring organizations.
Since 2002 we have been providing resources to ensure these girls have every opportunity to create a life filled with equality and make a lasting impact in their community. Will you join us by donating to continue this work?
