Food for Hope partners with local school districts to ensure children experiencing food insecurity are receiving enough to eat during the gaps when they are not at school.  Through weekend food bags, School Fuel snacks, and in-school food pantries, children are able to access nutritious and culturally responsive food items to help them grow and thrive.  One food bank visitor shared, “The food I receive helps me plan healthier meals and nourish my children better since I don't have many resources, I am grateful.”  Children are vulnerable to their circumstances and have no control over conditions at home.  Food for Hope levels the playing field in terms of offering needed food items so that these children can succeed among their peers.

Food for Hope currently has a significant waitlist for schools who want to participate in our programs.  Any grant funding would support our efforts to increase capacity and serve more children on a weekly basis.
