Our oceans and environment are facing a huge threat from plastic pollution. From tiny microplastics to disposable food packaging to large plastic fibre fishing nets, the pressure on our seas and countryside is growing with our reliance on single-use plastic and is evident from the amount of plastic pollution washing up on our shores. The Final Straw Foundation is a grass roots charity registered in England, working with communities, businesses and schools to raise awareness of the impact of plastic pollution on our environment, and how we can try to combat it. The charity runs regular organised beach cleans, often taking hundreds of kilos of plastic waste off beaches on the South Coast of England, in addition to an active educational outreach programme for schools and communities. We have some amazing volunteers who help with the charity, and any donations would help hugely in the fight against plastic pollution and trying to conserve our environment for future generations.
