About us

1 in 5 children in Australia attend school without food from home to fuel their growing bodies and minds. Missing meals has a big impact on a hungry students; "They get fatigued and their concentration levels drop, they find it hard to listen and when you get hungry you tend to get grumpy as well. Just knowing that there's food here keeps their learning ability to the best"— Principal of Eaglehawk Primary School, Bendigo. Eat Up provides more than 7,000 school lunches a week with the help of 3,000 amazing volunteers. This, combined with ongoing donations of ingredients and snacks helps to keep our costs very low. Eat Up has grown rapidly towards the goal of ensuring Australia’s most vulnerable children have the food they need to succeed in school. This year alone, Eat Up will deliver more than 260,000 lunches to 324 schools. This is a substantial increase from 108,000 in 2017 (207 schools), 33,000 in 2016 (64 schools) and 10,000 in 2015 (20 schools). We need your help to keep growing! We have 90 new schools lined up to receive lunches in 2019, please help us reach that goal!
