Knit For Life's mission is to empower a community of artisan hand knitters in rural Zimbabwe through the dignity of paid work. The knitters work with pride and attention to detail to create a range of hand knitted 100% cotton baby and children's clothing, toys and accessories that have been designed in Australia for the Australian and international market. The dignity of a sustainable income allows the knitters, who include disabled women, HIV and AIDS sufferers, blind women, single mothers, grandmothers and aunts, to support their extended families, access food, shelter, the limited healthcare available - and importantly to the funds needed to educate of the children
