Since 1965, Community Action Southold Town, Inc. (CAST - dba Center for Advocacy, Support & Transformation) has supported underserved and vulnerable populations, offering essential programs and services to guarantee food, shelter, education, employment, and health security. CAST’s mission is to provide a safety net and promote self-sufficiency for North Fork and Shelter Island residents in need. The organization extends its services with dignity and compassion to a varied demographic, encompassing seniors, children, individuals with disabilities, single parents, veterans, and the working poor. CAST’s overarching vision is to create a community where every member is free from worry about basic necessities and able to build a better future for themselves and their families. In pursuit of this vision, CAST goes beyond mere provision of basic necessities, standing as a reliable community resource providing essential programs and services through three distinct priorities: Food Security & Nutrition, Client Support Services & Advocacy, and Education & Outreach. These priorities complement and connect with each other, enabling CAST to offer a holistic approach to “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” - the CAST motto since 1965.
