BuildaBridge works with populations who live in poverty, physical pain, homelessness, and emotional suffering because of war, catastrophe, human trafficking, abuse, and neglect. In addition to providing services to children and families, The organization's efforts also extend to the human service professionals who experience vicarious and direct trauma, while working with the same population and environments as our youth. BuildaBridge provides arts-based self-care workshops to adult caregivers and front-line responders under the guise of "caring for the caregiver." While COVID prevented consistent connection points with youth, BuildaBridge touched the lives of youth's caregivers and helps the interdependent systems of care between child and caregiver. BuildaBridge International offers workshops addressing these psychological aspects and uses art-making as a way to teach self-care in the face of adversity.
