Bosom Buddies is a breast cancer charity providing support to people in our community dealing with breast cancer and their loved ones. We’re the local grass roots support charity, the only one in our region. We’re volunteer based and proudly independent.

We don’t receive any funding from the major national breast cancer organisations or the government. Instead, we rely on the generosity of our community to continue our mission.

What sets us apart from other local charities is our exclusive focus on providing emotional support through one-on-one peer connections, starting from the moment of diagnosis, and continuing throughout treatment and beyond. This is carried out by our dedicated support team, composed entirely of breast cancer survivors, spanning ages 26 to 80. Our eight support groups across Canberra and the surrounding NSW region foster a strong sense of community and connection. Meeting others who are going through or have gone through a breast cancer diagnosis provides invaluable reassurance and comfort, especially for those who may feel isolated during this challenging journey. Bosom Buddies comes from a place of care and deep compassion and the firm belief that no one should have to face their breast cancer journey alone.
