Tūao Aotearoa - Volunteering New Zealand is an association of volunteer centres, and national and regional organisations with a commitment to volunteering in Aotearoa New Zealand. Our organisation was created in 2001, the International Year of the Volunteer, with input from Department of Internal Affairs, regional volunteer centres and the private sector with the purpose of being a national voice for volunteering. We aspire for Aotearoa New Zealand to be a nation where volunteering is valued as part of who we are, where we thrive and are enriched by the goodwill of volunteers in every community, and the contribution and impact of volunteers is recognised and supported. We aspire for Tūao Aotearoa - Volunteering New Zealand to have a large and diverse membership with strong partnerships with government, iwi/Māori, communities and business enabling us to transform volunteering in Aotearoa New Zealand.
