Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio (BBBSNWO) is dedicated to creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth across our community. Serving Lucas and Wood counties, we provide high-quality, evidence-based programs that equip young people with the tools they need to succeed in school, build strong relationships, and make positive life choices.

Our signature Empowering Future Leaders (EFL) program is one of the largest group mentoring models within the Big Brothers Big Sisters network, serving over 1,500 youth annually. Through structured programming focused on Leadership Development, Life Skills, Cultural Competence, and Career Readiness, youth gain real-world exposure, confidence, and the ability to envision and pursue successful futures.

In addition to mentoring, BBBSNWO delivers substance abuse prevention education, STEM enrichment, financial literacy, and youth leadership opportunities through initiatives like our STEM Club and Youth Ambassador Club. These programs are designed to meet youth where they are and provide meaningful, hands-on experiences that prepare them for adulthood.

Our work is grounded in evidence-based practices, including the nationally recognized Botvin LifeSkills Training program, and is supported through partnerships with schools, community organizations, and local leaders who are committed to youth success.
