The Cat Ambassador, Inc.
About us
The Cat Ambassador’s mission is to improve the lives of cats . . . and their people. We provide financial assistance for veterinary care, cat food, and litter for individuals who are surviving on a fixed income. If individuals can no longer afford to keep their pets, they often think their only option is to surrender their cats to a shelter. Our main objective is to keep cats in their homes with their loving owners. The Cat Ambassador strongly advocates spay/neuter to prevent pet overpopulation, as well as microchipping to increase the chances that lost cats will be reunited with their owners—instead of entering the shelter system as strays. Our services range from providing education and supplies for bottle-feeding abandoned kittens, to assisting with the end-of-life costs of euthanasia and cremation.Individuals typically donate to their local shelters, humane societies, and rescue groups, but we are one of only a handful of nonprofits in the Mid-Michigan area whose main goal is to provide financial assistance to owners so they will not be forced to surrender their pets if they can’t afford to provide veterinary care when their cats are seriously ill or injured.
