About us

Beyond Conflict is the award winning UK mental health charity for victims of war, terrorism and displacement. We believe there can be no enduring peace without addressing the psychological fallout of war. Our charity supports mental health projects for victims of war, as well as training for frontline workers in conflict zones.  Since 2018 we have supported projects in Ukraine, Iraq, the Rohingya refugee camp in Bangladesh, the Palestinian West Bank and Gaza and Israel. We aim to make mental health a frontline humanitarian service and advocate for increased understanding and funding. We work via respected partners on the ground. We are supported by expert advisors and ambassadors, including our Founding Ambassador, the global humanitarian Sir Terry Waite. Founded in January 2018 by Edna Fernandes, author and journalist, Beyond Conflict's supporters today are diverse and global, including the  family of John Lennon, the London Stock Exchange Group Foundation (LSEG), schools and religious institutions of all faiths. In 2025, Beyond Conflict was named  by Acquisition International’s Non-Profit Organisation Awards as  International Humanitarian Mental Health Charity of the year and in 2024, Best Mental Health Charity for Victims of War – UK. As a charity, we are non-aligned, helping people of all faiths and none. Together, we aim to heal minds, change lives and restore hope.
