Action For Kids
About us
Disabled children and young people face huge barriers to good health, education and employment. At AFK we support disabled children and young people to live the life they choose.
We do this by:
• Funding specialist mobility equipment recommended by, but not funded by, the NHS for disabled children from birth to age 25 all around the UK. We also cover all maintenance and repair costs.
• Working with schools and colleges to introduce students with special educational needs and disabilities to the world of work and to prepare them for life beyond school.
• Supporting young people aged 18+ with special educational needs and disabilities with training, guidance and access to work placements to assist them to move into paid employment.
• Advocating for disabled children, young people and their families to ensure their voices and choices are heard.
• Offering accessible school holiday activities where children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities can meet new people and try new things in a safe environment.
