Wolf Haven International is a nationally recognized sanctuary and conservation organization located in Tenino, Washington. Since 1982, Wolf Haven has rescued and provided lifelong sanctuary to more than 325 displaced, captive-born wolves and wolfdogs. Wolf Haven is proud to be the only wolf sanctuary in the world accredited by both the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) and we were honored with the 2024 GFAS Outstanding Wildlife Sanctuary Award for excellence in animal care and welfare.

In addition to providing a safe home for wolves that cannot live in the wild, we actively participate in species recovery programs for the endangered Mexican wolf and American Red Wolf. Wolf Haven has successfully bred and cared for litters of both species, contributing directly to recovery efforts by releasing 22 Mexican gray wolves and 2 American Red Wolves back into their native ecosystems.

Through guided sanctuary visits, school programs, and community outreach, we inspire thousands of people each year to better understand wolves, their role in healthy ecosystems, and the importance of coexistence.
