Kai is precious and so is our planet. Whakaora Kai is a food rescue charity in Northland, New Zealand.  We prevent good food from going to landfill, strengthening food security while protecting our environment and climate. 

We work with over 120 community organisations and work hard to support them with food they can use to support community members in need.   Our hub in Whangārei operates with three staff and many wonderful volunteers who help collect, sort and distribute the food.   

We feel fortunate that we are able to do this mahi and are grateful for the ever-growing number of food suppliers and producers we work with. Because it’s only by working together that we can make a difference.
