About us

The UK has the highest household energy bills in Europe because of our exceptional exposure to gas in our home heating and electricity supply. As global energy prices have skyrocketed, millions of households across the UK have been pushed into fuel poverty and dangerous living conditions. It doesn’t have to be this way.The UK has the means to solve the energy price crisis – but it will take action from government. We’re demanding that the UK government helps those people who need it now and fixes the UK’s broken energy system for good. We all deserve to be warm in our own homes and our demands are for:
  • Meaningful support for vulnerable households to cope with the cost of energy
  • An ambitious, nation-wide energy efficiency programme, starting with the most vulnerable
  • A rollout of onshore renewable energy generation
  • An end to offshore oil and gas expansion
Coordinated by Uplift and the Green Alliance, the Warm this Winter coalition is made up of 45 organisations across the UK’s environment and anti-poverty sectors, including the Women’s Institute, Save the Children, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, CPRE, New Economics Foundation and End Fuel Poverty Coalition.
