Fairwild's vision is of a fair and sustainable future for wild plant resources and people, and our mission is to enable the transformation of resource management and business practices to be ecologically, socially, and economically sustainable throughout the supply chain of wild-collected products. Wild plant collectors supply the world with essential consumer ingredients but often come from some of the world’s most marginalised communities. FairWild certification requires that collectors are paid fair, long-term prices at approximately 5% above the market level. In addition, collectors and their communities benefit from payment of the FairWild Premium for use on infrastructure or necessary services such as school equipment, healthcare infrastructure, sanitation, etc. Under the FairWild Standard, participation of women in collection and training is encouraged. We aim to provide a worldwide framework for implementing a sustainable, fair and value-added management and trading system for wild-collected natural ingredients and products thereof.
