Unbridled protects horses from suffering cruelty, exploitation, and slaughter. We save and attend primarily to senior mares who are the most marginalized and at-risk segment of the Thoroughbred population. We rehabilitate, retrain and rehome through adoption, and sustain a herd of thirty special needs and senior Thoroughbred mares in sanctuary. Unbridled is a volunteer-run and donor-supported 501(c)3 non-profit public charity (ID-77-0664331). Our Board of Directors is active, engaged, and independent. Our commitment to fiscal transparency carries the Guidestar Platinum Seal and Guardian Charity recognition from the Equus Foundation. Our excellence in equine care is recognized by Accreditation from the American Sanctuary Association and Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries. In 2020 and 2021, Unbridled was named one of the Top Ten Sanctuaries in America.
