True Friends AWC is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to being a no-kill animal shelter. We rely heavily on the donations and support of our community. We used to receive large grants from our county but have since been deemed "unnecessary" for the funding of our community and have been significantly cut, and now struggle with day to day care as well as up-keep of our facility. While donations help more than people know,  grants are a backbone of support that help in an integral way. Grants allow us to maintain and upgrade kennels which allow for more space and more animal intakes, as well as better care and exercise, less stress on the animals and staff and safer areas, and the ability to better help our community. They also help aid with the cost of medical bills that add up quickly and often times unexpectedly. Without proper funding the shelter will ultimately close one day and the county be left without a place to turn to with the epidemic of unwanted animals in our area. We could use all the help we can get to provide the best care and lives for the dogs and cats in our facility while they are here, and to make the proper steps towards the betterment of our facility in the future, and we hope you will help support us.
