Established in 1972 as a community-based nonprofit organization, The San Diego Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center (The Center) is one of the most vibrant and largest LGBT community centers in the nation.  Functioning as the San Diego LGBT community’s anchor organization, The Center is led by a 12-member board of directors, employs more than 100 paid staff, and utilizes more than 1,200 community volunteers to achieve its twin goals of promoting LGBT health/wellness and human rights.  The Center provides targeted programs and services to the full diversity of the San Diego LGBT community, including men, women, youth, seniors, transgender and non-binary individuals, families, LGBT Latino community members and their families, and those living with HIV.  Last year, The Center provided more than 110,000 direct service visits to nearly 20,000 San Diego community members and, through its events, activities, and advocacy touched the lives of thousands more.

The San Diego LGBT Community Center enhances and sustains the health & well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV communities to the betterment of our entire San Diego region.
