Peach Foundation has been operating for 25 years and we have helped 18,000 poor children in China, Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Nepal. These students have graduated from college, are work better paying jobs, are able to help themselves and their family, and thus make generational changes in their families and community. Peach's objective is to help children from the poorest parts of China and Southeast Asia with an opportunity to complete a college education. Knowledge and education is the only way to break the vicious cycle of poverty and to raise the educational standard of the regions in which the children live.
Our long term goal is to create generational change in the communities by giving educational opportunity to the poorest yet elite students.
Maesot, Thailand: Maesot borders Myanmar and over 200,000 refugees fled Myanmar to settle here. With no legal status, Myanmar refugees cannot legally work or send their children to Thai schools. To provide education for the children, the refugee community has set up their own schools. The teachers receive very little pay and as a result, the teacher turnover rate has been over 30%. The refugee educational system is in tatter and the students are at risk. The only way for the refugee children to enter Thai colleges is to pass the GED test.
Since October 2022, Peach Foundation has provided stipends to the teachers of the refugee students so there's less turnover, and we provide scholarships to the children to ensure stability in school. We also host annual English summer camps, aiming to help build self-confidence.
Nepal: Dalits, or "untouchables", are the lowest caste in Nepal's traditional Hindu caste system. They comprise about 13.8% of the population and face severe, systemic discrimination despite legal protections. This discrimination affects nearly every aspect of their lives, including access to education, land, employment (low-paying jobs), healthcare, and justice, often forcing them into menial or undesirable jobs. Discrimination remains a daily reality, manifesting as social segregation, denial of resources like public water taps, and ill-treatment in public institutions. Dalit women face compounded discrimination, including denial of education and jobs, and are often excluded from decision-making processes.
Since March 2025, Peach Foundation has provided scholarships to Dalit students for them to complete middle school, high school, and college.
We also have projects in Cambodia and Myanmar with similar goals of providing scholarships to the poorest yet elite students.
