For more than 20 years, Chicago Dancemakers Forum (CDF) has responded to the evolving needs of Chicago’s dancemakers, with the resources, peer connections, artistic dialogue, and opportunities for visibility necessary for their creative endeavors to thrive. It fills a unique/critical role in the city’s arts ecosystem – support for individual dancemakers, who represent the rich diversity of Chicago communities. It contributes to a more equitable dance landscape, where dancemakers from across the city have increased opportunities for artistic/commercial success. According to New City Stage, “The vibrancy and abundance of Chicago’s dance landscape is thanks in no small part to [CDF].

CDF catalyzes the growth and artistic fulfillment of Chicago's dancemakers by providing time and resources for in-depth exploration and creation. We build broad support for the field of dance in Chicago by facilitating robust interaction among dancemakers and with the public.

CDF Believes:
