The Retrievers are a dedicated, all-volunteer team committed to reuniting lost dogs with the families who love them. Serving Minnesota and surrounding states, the team brings together trained responders, case managers, and technical specialists who work collaboratively to support owners from the moment a dog goes missing until the moment that dog is safely home.

With expertise in lost-dog behavior, field strategy, and humane capture, The Retrievers provide guidance on everything from effective sightings management and scent-specific search plans to the safe setup and monitoring of specialized trapping equipment. Our volunteers respond to real-time cases, deploy essential tools—including trail cameras, feeding stations, and large-format humane traps—and help coordinate community awareness so that each search is focused, informed, and safe.

Every member of the team shares the same belief: every lost dog deserves to be found.

Whether supporting a frightened stray who’s been surviving on her own or helping a family navigate the panic of a sudden escape, The Retrievers provide calm expertise, compassionate communication, and steadfast persistence.

Beyond active recoveries, The Retrievers also invest in prevention and education. Through community training, partnerships with rescue groups, and our growing NeverLost U program, we teach thousands of pet owners and volunteers the critical first steps to take when a dog goes missing—empowering more people to bring more dogs home.
